New FBT amounts from 1st April 2014

Change in Salary Packaging Amounts from April 1, 2014
To assist in funding the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), the previous Federal Government increased the Medicare Levy from 1.5% to 2%, which will take effect as of April 1, 2014.

This change has implications for salary packaging with the amount that can be salary packaged for ‘living expenses’ being reduced., The amount of the reduction is outlined in the following table:
